Can you see how the volumes build week-to-week leading you up to long runs and long rides consistent with the 70.3 distance? Can you imagine how you'd feel if you tried doing those volumes this week and every week between now and the race? What would be the impact of adding a few extra miles to the current workout? How will it set you up for the next workout? The plan may intentionally keep your ride to an hour today so you are fresh for a tempo run tomorrow. If you add 15 minutes today, are you going to hit the tempo run as hard as you could have if you'd followed the plan? Make sure your intensity is consistent with the workout plan. You may find you can be closer to the top of Z2 than the bottom of Z2 during the ride instead of thinking you should go an extra 15 minutes. |
