Comments:

The course was shortened due to the water temp and number of new triathletes and those without wetsuits. After watching the fast guys in the first wave, it was quicker to run down the beach a bit an then dive in towards the buoy from an angle. You got ahead of the pack and avoided the water for a bit longer. Dove in and was able to swim to the first bouy then couldn't keep my face in the water so I breast stroked the second leg. Walked/ran the last leg.
What would you do differently?:

Not race when the water is that cold?
Transition 1

Comments:

I put my jersey in in T1 instead of wearing it under my suit. It was to cold to wear a wet jersey on the bike.

Comments:

I haven't been on the bike much so I was happy with this ride.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 2

Comments:

I think this is my fastest T2 ever. It felt really slow though. Maybe it really is faster not to rush.

Comments:

PR! I felt pretty rough on the way out and had to walk a couple times, but I realized when I could see the turn around that I might have a shot at a PR. My fastest 5k before was 30:30ish. I've never broken 30 minutes and it's been a goal since I started running. I hit the run around at 16:30 and knew that all I really needed was to not walk at all. You can see the finish from a long way out, so I picked it up. I knew it would be close so any time it hurt and I felt my pace drop off, I just pushed harder. What a great feeling to finally check this goal off my list.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
