Subject: 5k / 10k
I need a 5k or 10k for motivation. Anyone have a race suggestion in say October? Charlotte/Winston/Greensboro or Raleigh is preferred.

IIRC the Susan Komen Race (5k) is on October 3rd.  It has a ton of people and divide it into competitive and non-competitive.

NC State 10K, October 24; followed by the Raleigh Monster Dash on October 25 (run the race in a Holloween costume!)

I'm already registered for the 10K, but I might stay an extra day for the 5K too.
