Bike
Comments: Well I started off well - first 10k around 20 mph and I was happy, feeling good. Then the wheels started coming off. Each 10k I dropped speed about 1 mph. By 30k I was hurting, no energy and the foot pain started. Something has changed in my setup and my feet were in serious burning pain. I wanted off the bike. I tried to keep a respectable speed up but my heart and pride were out of it so I limped home probably around 15/15.5 for the final 5k. So happy to see the finish tent. What would you do differently?: I need to get my bike fit straightened out. And I need to get more intense workouts in. However,I am focusing on OBX marathon training at the moment so I knew I was not in bike shape. Post race
Warm down: I stopped back at the parking lot by the start line and Beth's dad had some ice cold gatorade. It tasted soooooo good! Then I rode back to the parking lot - had to stop at one point b/c my legs were cramping really bad. I was a mess! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training Event comments: TT are pretty low key. This race was organized and great course for going fast (ha ha) at least for those who went fast. TT are a great practicing tool for triathletes. I look forward to more next year. Last updated: 2009-08-20 12:00 AM

I got on the trainer for about 10 min. but I also had to get stuff together so not as much time on the trainer as I had planned. Then had to ride 5.5 miles to race start. Rode over w/ another NCVC team member.
