Subject: New Road Bike - Scott vs Fuji - Rmabling...
Was in the new LBS yesterday (not even open yet) and looked at some of the new Scotts coming out.  Unfortunately Scott is out of any 2009s in my size (61+) so I'm looking at 2010 models.  The good news is the owner wants to kick things off so looks like he's going to make me a good deal.

Look at the CR1 Team (Pro).  Nice bike.  The only problem is it's WHITE.  I'm wondering how that's going to hold up over time.  I guess I could dress it up a bit with some non-white tape but I'm not in love (and shouldn't you be?)

Then there is the Elite.  It's a new model between the Pro and the Team...about $500 more but it's got upgraded wheels and SRAM instead of Shimano.  Plus it's not ALL white...  BTW these are 2009 bikes listed below... (Scott & Fuji both have yet to update their websites for 2010)

So to confuse matter more the owner then tell me about the new Fujis.  For whatever reason I have always had a bad view of Fujis but I have nothing to base it on.  They look like nice bikes but I'm not sure.

Looking at the SL1 Comp.  Has a similar price point to the Scott Team.

So...looking for a sounding wall.  WWBTD?  Any strong opinions either way?

OMG dude... what are you going to do after Labor Day?  Everyone knows you can't ride a white bike after Labor Day.

Bought an 09 CR1 Team (105)
love the bike. Soon to be Sram Force equipped, but that's just toying with it, not from any problems.

I have an '08 CR1 Team and I'll echo the guy above, I have no complaints.  I have nothing to base a comparison off of, the only other road bike's I've ridden were during shopping for what turned out to be the Scott, but they're nice bikes: light, good wheels, comfortable (for me at least) and just a solid bike for that mid-range price point.

One suggestion that I'm sure others will mention as well: don't base your judgement as much on what others say as how comfortable you are on both bikes.  If they're comparably priced I'd imagine they're pretty comparable bikes; which one fits you better?  61+ is certainly toward the end of the bike size spectrum so I'd imagine fit isn't as 'stock' as in the mid-range (54/56), make sure that you feel great on whichever you choose, that's certainly light-years more important than the color.

Good luck with the decision!

Yeah the issue with needing such a big bike is that no one every has anything in stock.  They would have to order one in.  So while I'm not obligated to buy anything I really can't ask him to order one of each and try them both.

Thanks for the info.  I'm leaning towards Scott but it's always good to hear that others love them as well.
