Swim
Comments: Felt ...OK on swim. Didn't get tired, but didn't feel great. Improved over last time at same course. Faster than last race here, but not much. What would you do differently?: Do a burst of 200 meters somewhere in the middle to see if I can get a better time Transition 1
Comments: First time with Clipless pedals. Had practiced, but not in race environment. Transition area was muddy, and got crap on my feet and in my socks. Didn't jump on bike, but ran to mount and then mounted. Put one foot on shoe/pedal and started. Worked great. My fastest T1 yet. What would you do differently?: Practice more with shoes and try the running jump.... Putting on my tri shirt when I am wet is not fast. Need to get a tri suit or a top that I swim in. Bike
Comments: Felt good. The clipless seemed to give me a little bit extra even on a short ride. I think my pacing and cadence were good, but I may have to invest in a cadence meter for my Polar. Some guy kept coming up close behind and NOT passing. This was bugging me so I pushed it up and dropped them. That felt good. Getting passed didnt! Was 3 + minutes faster than last time-Whoo hoo What would you do differently?: Work the enging-Need to get good cadence in a higher gear. Need to readjust seat for riding with clipless. Transition 2
Comments: Got my feet loose and was pulling feet out and almost lost the shoe-it dragged, but didn't come out. Tons of crap from ground got on socks an in shoes. Better than last race T2 What would you do differently?: Practice. Bring a towel for feet/socks Maybe look into no socks? Run
Comments: My feet were annoying, all the crap from the transition area. Didn't feel great at start. Think it might have to do with seat level on bike. Settled in and picked up pace after 1.5. Felt good at end. Better time than last race. What would you do differently?: Run a little harder a little earlier. Post race
Warm down: Two bottles of water and cheer on my try group! I think everyone did better than their last race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Didn't have great mental game this morning.
