Pre-race routine:

Woke up and got some food in my and liquids. Relaxed and rode up with my Uncle (Woody62) to the race. He knew all the back roads which was good and we didn't get stuck in traffic.
Event warmup:

Bathroom break x2 and just got mentally prepped.

Comments:

Great run and really happy with my performance and pace. Considering I went into this race with no real "goal" and just to have fun I was around 1min 30 off of a PR. Last PR was on a super flat course (Cherry Blossom 10 miler). Really pleased with my progress and speed on the hills. Humidity was a little thick and the heat really hit you anytime out in the sun. But very happy overall
What would you do differently?:

Maybe realize my pace a little better. I was shooting for 930ish pace for the whole thing and ended up running an 8:48 :) Still pleased and I might have been able to push it a bit more in the middle of the course. But the elevation surprised me considering it WAS annapolis.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around and got my race premium. Headed to the car to change and to head back and meet back with my Uncle

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Maybe a little humidity was a factor

Event comments:

Very good race and had a lot of fun with it. I think I have "found" my distance to run. Anything more then 10miles ish I sorta get "bored" with running anything more. I figure its about an 1hr 30min of working out and I'm done.

Great race with plenty of water stops and great on course support from all of the families and homes we pass. Heck one guy was handing out small dixie cups of Guiness... was going to stop but at 830am for thick beer only 6 miles into it?!

Nice job, CJ - great pace! I agree, I have enjoyed the 10-Miler distance the couple of times I've run it (Cherry Blossom 08 and 09).

One of my favorite races! Great job.

10-miler is a great distance - long enough to be challenging and require some real training, short enough that training for it doesn't consume your life or force you into a long post-race recovery period.
