'Twas good. No date... but it was GREAT!

The saddest part was (spoiler alert)...

...when he commited himself to the dark side.

I'm glad you put the spoiler alert in there....because I never would have realized that he committed himself to the dark side.

Did you meet anyone there? I'm sure there were lots of single guys. They'd probably take you to see it a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth time. Heck, by the time the movie is no longer shown, you could be engaged. (If that's what you desire?)May the force of being a single, intelligent, fit woman who loves Star Wars be with you.

Actually, the ratio of males:females was probably 9:1. I don't think the males really noticed the females, either. The screen was split at the beginning and people were HOWLING! They adjusted the screen just as the scrolling storyline appeared. I thought they would riot if they didn't fix the screen in time! It was great, though. Four sold-out theaters and everyone was abuzz as the movie let out all at the same time.

My nephews (7 and 11) have tickets for 4pm today. They're very excited! I can't wait to tell them I saw it already. They thought they would beat me to it! HAH! They underestimate their zia.

And thanks for that last thought! Very humorous.

I saw a very interesting "making of Star Wars" documentary on A&E last night. If it is re-run I think you would enjoy it. Studio execs didn't take the movie seriously and came close to cancelling the project twice. The budget was very tight, and the actors struggled with Lucas' dialog, but Sir Laurence Olivier brought credibility to the film and inspired everyone to stick with it. The documentary has some un-edited footage with David Prowse (Vader) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) speaking their lines.

I'll check our listings for the A&E show.  I am not a Star Wars maniac, but I really like this movie...the action sequences are awesome.

I saw it today. Much better than I expected.

Ewan McGregor does a fantastic job of playing Obi-wan.  He's the actor who really holds the movie together.

The F/X and CG is way better than any of the other Star Wars movies.

It's a very dark movie with lots of battles and the violence gets a little heavy.  The PG-13 rating is about right.  Lucas did a great job of getting all the loose ends tied up.
