Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread Hi everyone, Thanks for the kind words.... I dropped out around mile 70 or so of the bike... My swim went bad and I drank a lot of water, was having problems getting my stomach to settle so I was behind in nutrition early on. My legs just weren't working with me and with the heat and lack of nutrition... I lost any power I had in my legs. I figured, even though it was hard, to pull out there so I can have another day in the future than get hurt. Today is hard. You train a year for a race and it is just gone but without the celebration you hope for in the end. It feels like what my friend described as the day after Christmas but Santa never showed up at my house. I will do it again... but not next year... I start nursing school soon. But I have a score to settle with the bike course. I'm sooooo proud of everyone who accomplished yesterday and just as proud of those of us who didn't make it. It was a hard hard day out there. Someday... someday real soon, I will be an Ironman too. |
