Hey there- I am planning on this one and I will be training for another HIM in July. I have a pretty busy family life, but I do get out in the early AM for rides or runs occasionally. I live up in Tuscany and work in Montgomery.

Definitely up for riding the course or parts of it in the upcoming months. Just got outside for a ride for the first time this year today. It felt great, but I have a long way to go before I am ready for the race.

Me and wifey are signed up again.............we do get to Calgary quite often, so any suggestions for some favorite bike routes (other than the course itself)?

Mornings are starting to look good, and I will likely be heading out from Tuscany in the wee hours on Sundays in the upcoming weeks. Not looking for anything too intense. I am riding an old steel bike for the early season, so I will not be too fast. I like heading out the Bearspaw Road, turning west onto Big Hill Springs Road, into Timmy's (On 22) for a coffee, and then back to Tuscany via the #1 or #1A, depending on the day. If anyone want to join in, let me know. Does the course go by Tim Hortons..... hmmmm?

I believe the course does go by the Tim's and that it is also in the NO PASSING section going through Cochrane so you'd probably only lose a couple of minutes if you needed to stop in for a double double... Wink.

Well, I will tell the wife to hang there with the kids. I guess a pass off of a double double would be legit? I am only half kidding. In any case, I am really looking forward to this race. I plan to ride sections of it to try and get familiar with the course. Likely will do a couple of out and backs from different sections. This will be my second HIM after I do the Desert Half in July. Looking forward to a great season.

I get my bike back from the shop tomorrow so I'm looking forward to doing a bunch of riding this weekend on the highway toward Cochrane. Hopefully the weather holds out. I think the crowds at Shouldice pool are picking up too as tri season is getting upon us.

Supposed to be a decent weather weekend for the race.
Little disappointed in the pro list. Not too many coming up for it.
Who is in?

I'm in... looks like they are having some trouble filling up this year though. The entry list so far looks like there are less than 1000 people signed up so far.

I'm making the trip from southern Ontario to Calgary for this race.
Looking forward to it. Wish I'd trained more, but not much I can do about it now.

I'll be there.  There may be a little let down in numbers b/c it isn't the inaugural event, but it is going to be a great day.  You always wish you trained more but trust in your training and run your own perfect race.

I'm in! Fly home to Edmonton on Thursday and then driving down to Calgary! Hopefully we get good weather and not the stuff that Calgary seems to have been plagued with this year!

My husband and I are coming in from Saskatoon on the Friday night, so it doesn't leave much time to get together with BTer's for training.

Low of 12 and high of 23 on Sunday. Little wind.
At least that is the forecast on Tuesday night.
If we have the wind that we had tonight, it'll make the ride 'interesting'.
If it is windy, pray for a west wind!!

Just wondering if anyone went to the Q&A session last night? Anything exciting to know about?

Had a great race, although for the first 10 min of the swim I convinced myself I would never put myself through the cold again. Now that it's over, I'm thinking it wasn't that bad. Great that the rain wasn't as bad as it couldn't been.

I was just on the ironman website and noticed that Calgary isn't on the list for next year. Does that mean that after all of the negative comments this year and the participation being less than half of capacity that they pulled the event? Any one heard any rumors..? Any facts?
