Girl Passing on Left - 2009-10-07 12:11 PM

aspeelma - 2009-10-07 8:01 AM So Saturday night we had our big fall party down at my In-Law's. They are against any kind of drinking at all. It's all evil, blah blah whatever. Do you notice I don't share the same opinion?

Friends of mine were coming and they knew about the In-Laws not being fans of alcohol. Both of them come walking across the yard carrying blue cups, instead of the clear plastic ones everyone was using. My friend asked me if I like Tonic or Fresca. I enjoyed the evening drinking 2 rather large blue cups full of vodka and Fresca. I had a very nice buzz on and as far as I know no one knows what we were doing. It felt like I was 16 again trying to hide it from my parents instead of 36 and well beyond legal. It was a nice night for a bonfire and to be outside.

and here's to the blue cups! glad you were able to cut loose! does your hubby drink? and if so do they know he does?

No, he doesn't. He has 4 siblings and all of them do, he's the good child. Can't do anything that mom and dad wouldn't approve of.

I enjoy a good margarita, and wine. I have a friend who makes homemade raspberry zinfandel, it is delicious. I also like Whiskey sours. The homemade wine friend also introduced me to Wild Turkey American Honey, it is sooooo smooth.

I wonder if Stacie got stuck in her spare room/closet with all the junk and her family is looking for her?

i'm here.  i'm here.  i'm here!

the beast of a room wasnt as beastly as i thought.

a bag for garbage.

a bag for Goodwill.

a bag for my friend whose son is a few years younger than my youngest.

and (ashamed to admit it) Christmas decorations that my dh STILL needs to put up in the attic.

i suppose he's figuring that in 2 1/2 months he'll have to take them down from the attic, so why bother.  LOL.

once i get all the bags outta there and get on my dhs case for procrastinating, it will be an empty room.

why we even bothered buying a 4 bedroom house, when we had a perfectly fine 3 bedroom.

we thought it would be nice for the boys to all have their own rooms (and im sure at some point they will)

but my middle and my youngest have been sharing a room since my youngest was born.

sometimes now they even end up in the same bed together even though theres bunkbeds.

ahhhh.  brotherhood.

stacieb

Stacie sounds like my house....kids sharing a room/bed. Our son is the only one with his own room and every night he asks one of his sisters to sleep with him!

thats funny, KIM.  my brothers and i shared a room the first six years of my life.

i really have fond memories of that time together....except the time my oldest brother scared the S-H you know what out of me, playing the theme music from the movie JAWS, jumping out from under his bed and grabbing my ankles.

still traumatized.

as for my boys as long as they are sleeping w each other and NOT w/me, in my bed, im good.

alrighty.  ive read through all the posts, to get caught up, but i have somethings to get done around here....ill have to come back and respond later.

but wanted to fly in to say, i got my interval run done today.

1x400, 2x800, 1x400.

and i got a re-evaluation done at my chiropractors since my foot pain has completely resolved YAY!  no more foot pain.

now were looking treating my lower lumbar, SI joints and pelvic tilt that seem to be bothersome from time to time, especially running and cycling...

i have orthro arthritis/degenerated lower veterbra.

and i guess ive been so focused on the foot pain, that it really 'sunk in' today....my vertebra are degenerating.  OI.

its nothing that keeps me from doing what i do, but enough that its worth treating w the cold laser.  continue my adjustments.

long term?  im not sure....

we're gonna go over the results of the re-evaluation next time.  but the good Doc said they saw some really positive improvements in the time that ive been coming there, from my original scans to the ones they did today.

im uber excited to see for myself just how much ive improved

though i dont think you can ever be 100%/perfect, its nice to know that structurally/biomechanically speaking, im in much better shape than i was six months ago.

ONWARDANDUPWARD.

Drive-by run report.  Just a mile on the treadmill at the gym, but every mile counts!

It was actually a huge mile for me because I've never been on a treadmill before.  I got over my irrational fear of imitating George Jetson!

Strength training workout and spin on the bike done too.

ooooh.  and im meeting up w a few folks, for the first time who enjoy the writings of ECKHART TOLLE.

i loved the Power of Now. transformational.

though.

i found myself reading and re-reading and re-reading sentences.

Tolle's writings (if you've never read them) are very 'deep'.

i dont even pretend to even begin to understand the full extent of the 'wisdom', though i find myself wanting to understand more fully....so.  im going tonight.

it should be an interesting evening w/ (im hoping) some like-minded people.
