Subject: P2C Ultegra vs P2C DA - your thoughts?
I have an opportunity to buy either a lightly used P2C Ultegra or a brand new P2C DA.  Let me know your thoughts on whether or not the DA would be worth the extra $800 in price.  Both bikes are 2009 models.

The DA is factory spec.

The Ultegra is factory spec with an upgraded saddle (Fizik) and wheels (Shimano 550).

Other than paint scheme and a couple hundred grams of weight, is there a significant amount of difference between the DA and Ultegra?   Thanks!

I bought the Ultegra and love it, but I would suggest buying the DA just b/c I don't want to see my same bike all over T1.Laughing

Cervelo's website states that the crank is different between the two under the "Complete Bike Components" table.  Standard on the DA and a compact on the Ultegra.  However, the site does say "Specs may change without notice" and others stated that their Ultegra came with a standard crank.  Something to check out on the bike if it matters to you.

I have Ultegra on my Orbea, and I love it. I did a lot of longer test rides on DA bikes and a few rides on friends bikes that have DA, and I can't tell the difference. Unless you are a weight weenie, pocket the cash and use it on some race wheels or other good accessories.

The stock saddle on the P2C is an evil bugger -- take the Ultegra w/ the Fizik

But seriously, the only difference you're going to notice in bike performance is not dependent on Ultegra vs. DA, but on how much training you put in on the bike. The fancy parts are just to impress your friends, which you'll do by smoking them on the bike course when they're riding thousands of dollars more expensive bikes but you've put in dozens more hours training.

I too have the Ultegra and love it! Like others have mentioned, I would use the extra $800 on something else!

Ultegra all the way. Unless it's more than slightly used, of course.
