Comments: Again, a little fast at the start. Slowed it down after 3 miles to more realistic pace. When I crossed the 9-mile point, I looked over my shoulder, saw no one nearby, and just throttled back for the finish. Wasn't going to gain a spot, wasn't going to lose a spot, so cruised it in. What would you do differently?: Go a little harder on the 2nd half if possible. I was just not in good shape for this race unfortunately. I've been fighting the adductor issue, long hours at work, and fatigue. This was about as much as I had to offer. I did enjoy the last 2-3 miles, where I just turned it into a long run effort, since no one was behind me challenging. Post race
Warm down: Ride back down to New Hill, cheering on runners as I met them on the trail. What limited your ability to perform faster: Tight calves, sore hip, lack of motivation... Event comments: Pleased with the results, but a different field this year than last. Had the A-game folks been there, it would not have been a 2nd place AG finish. Last updated: 2009-07-14 12:00 AM

Up early (5am). Putz around the house. Load the bike on the car. Drive to New Hill.
Ride from New Hill up to White Oak on the Fisher. Hang around for a bit, go for a short run up towards MP6. Stop at the new subdivision for a potty break. Run easy back towards White Oak, with 3 pickups in there to test out the calf. Feels like it might hold on.
