I didn't realize this thread existed until today - oh well   It was a good day and seems like BT represented pretty well!!

About 24 hours post race I have returned from dinner..and I ate lobster bisque, a mozzarella stick, blackened mahi, fried shrimp, french fries, 2 glasses of wine, a twix bar and the remainder of my daughter's key lime pie.  LOL!

Congrats to everyone who spent the year training and toed that line!!!

bryancd - 2009-11-07 5:55 PM OK, I must be wrong....and Brent is having a bad day on the run. . He's had some issue's with his run legs recently, maybe it flared up on him. Hang tough Brent!

I was actually trying to figure out what happened to him too...called a friend that is down there with him and Brent actually got hit by a car on the bike.  WTF!  Our friend didn't know may details(he'd only briefly talked to Brent's parents) BUT, he still finished the bike with a great time and seems to just be a little slow moving as he loosens up on the run but seems to be picking up now.  Hopefully the leg pain he's been having will stay away, he's had enough pain already today!

As for the driver that hit him- I hear he got a ticket and a slap on the hand.  Curious to hear more details later.

GO BRENT!!!!

Typical of Panama City. hence the reason I'm not in 2009...hopefully fixed and ready for IMFL 2010.

Hi everyone...

Just got home from Panama City, logged on to my favorite hotspot on the web here on BT and was overwhelmed by the support on race day. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.

Before I went out on the swim, my husband kissed me and said "Leave it all on the course...110%..." That's what I did!! I got stung on the swim by several jellyfish but one got just below my right eye which made my eye swell up and by mile 70 of the bike, I was having a hard time seeing. This didn't really effect my speed, just my comfort level. I just didn't have the power against the wind and my swim was a little too long...just means a little more training!!

I am not discouraged. I got farther than I did last year and I am glad to say that I got 2 of the 3 disciplines accomplished. I will do this again but it will be 2011 before I attempt an Ironman distance. Next year will be a focus on 1/2 Ironman distances and losing some more weight.

I can't thank you guys enough for following all of us from BT online. You are truly amazing!! I went to the awards banquet last night where i was one of the top 5 fundraisers for the Janus Charity Challenge and came home with a trophy!! Hey...at least I didn't come home empty handed!!

Not sad...not discouraged...Im just moving forward towards that Ironman dream

Hugs to all of you ....Melissa

Melissa, you are so strong and amazing! You have the heart of a lion... and of steel!

That's amazing you raised so much money!!!! WOW!

Jelly fish stings? Ugh. This is the TOP REASON why I would NEVER do IMFL. I am terrified of those things.

Great job getting out there and trying your best! 2011 here you come!!!!

Hey y'all - thanks for watching and tracking us BT'ers during the race!  I saw Anne on the bike and was lucky enough to have Briana catch me at the finish.

From reading the results, looks like some had fantastic races.  I was so sad to hear about Melissa's DNF.  I can relate, having had a DNF at IMKY in August.

Congrats to all the IRONMEN!

Thanks again for tracking, watching, posting, praying, and thinking about all of us.  The support certainly helped!

Thanks, BT!  I thought of everyone watching every time I crossed a timing mat and got an extra burst of energy.  IMFL was everything I could have hoped for and I felt like I was well trained following Don Fink's plan.

Thanks to all of the volunteers and good luck to everyone taking the plunge next year!

I just put together a little video of the last 20 minutes or so of the race.  I tried to capture the feeling's there - so if you know anybody in the video (finishing), it'd be cool if you forwarded it to them.  I was already pointed to the blog of the last official person to finish, so it's cool to be able to give them a little piece extra of their day.
