Taking your bike to work (Page 2)

I've been riding in usually twice a week for the last couple of months. It's a 35 mile round trip, we have a shower and lockers at work, and I take shoes and clothes back and forth on days that I drive.

I was having difficulty finding the time for the bike training, and this lets me "merge" that with my commuting time. It takes me about an hour each way biking, vs. about 25-30 minutes in the car.

I ride a road bike with a rack, fenders, lights, a pump...I generally carry my lunch, maybe some clothes. I have plenty of office space so often I bring the bike inside. I enjoy the time and it lets my co-workers talk about the "crazy cyclist".

yea, koalabear...I just sling a backpack on my back with some clothes...then when I get to the office I run to the restroom to change...also, I bring a washcloth to do a "mini" shower over my chest and pits and whatnot.

Add a dash of deordorant and then I'm good to go!

I then take a shower when I get home from biking from work

Im taking classes in locksmithing, and just a note on those bikelocks with the tubular keys(like posted in this thread) , theives can open those in seconds with a pen, so dont trust your highdollar bike on those.

Mine either stays in the car on cool days, or comes inside and gets chained to something un-movable.  If you do it enough, people will start to expect it and its much less stressful.
