Comments: Finished my 1st marathon! Learned alot about endurance training and acomplishing what you set your mind to. Although, I did have higher expectations regarding finish time. Target was 4 hours. Going in to the weekend I had some tightness in my right hamstring which seemed ok Sunday a.m. More or less forgot about it. Felt great 1st hour, like I was running on air, reeled in the 4hr pacer from a slow start, all was good. 2nd hour I needed to increase my focus to hold pace and I noticed my hamstring was sore, but still ran 1:58 first split. 3rd hour some drama began. I was finding it difficult to reel the pacer back in after the aid stations due to my hamstring. About mile 16 some finish time doubt arrived in my mind and mile 18 I was dropped by the pacer, my leg was going down fast. Began hour 4 around mile 20 and went into survival mode, had to walk/jog the last 10k but got 'er done. What would you do differently?: Nailed hydration/nutrition and was never really out of breath. Heart and lungs were race ready today but my skeleton was not. I still need to analyze my training and taper in particular figure out what happend with the leg. Post race
