Subject: SwiMP3 or Nu Dolphin?

I really want an underwater mp3 player for swimming.  I can't use an otterbox but I'm thinking of using one of the following.  They've both been recommended to me but I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried both and can give me a comparison.

Thanks!

I currently own the Nu Dolphin but like the SwimP3 more.  The only reason I have the Nu is because a guy at work couldn't get it to work.  The ear plugs keep falling out and he couldn't seem to get a good seal.  I have it happen occasionally but the thing that bugs me is I can't hear a thing with the ear plugs in.  It also doesn't sound great when swimming.  It's a little muffled and the water noise is still fairly loud.  Another thing I don't like is you need to clip the base player to your goggle strap and then try to put the ear pieces in without getting the cords tangled.  I'm sure I'd get better at it but it's kind of a hassle and given the other problems I've almost quit using it.

I've borrowed a Swimp3 and thought it sounded pretty amazing.  It didn't sounds great out of the water but once I started swimming it really came to life.  Sounded like the the whole pool was full of music.  It kind of startled me at first.  I think it would take some getting used to but it really sounded great.  It's what I'll be getting next.

Hope this helps...

I have the Swimp3 and love it. It instantly turned my boredom to passing time with ease. I actually just reloaded it tonight with some new songs. Mine has 36 songs on it. Thats all I could fit on her. That may be the only complaint is I wish it could hold more songs but 36 is plenty for a few workouts. The battery holds a charge for a while also wich is good.

I have swim mp3 player and have used it in the pool to train for IMs..works great.

No other music device I have seen at the pools has worked well for others..if they have head phones they tend to fall out. These vibrate through your bones and is compact.

Love it!

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Realtree - what size if your Swimp3?  I'm looking at this 1Gig unit that holds 240 songs.

Couple more questions. Anyone use the swimp3 on a Mac?  How does it connect to the computer without a USB cable?  (The website says you don't need one).

Also, can you charge it on your computer (like an ipod) or is it necessary to buy the charger as well?

Thanks

I have a SwimP3 with a mac. The unit has an integrated USB that seals with a watertight cap when you're swimming. When you're ready to charge it or download songs, you pull off the cap and it plugs right into the back of my iMac--no cords or chargers needed.

As for the compatibility, it works fine. You have to convert your iTunes files to MP3's, which takes an extra step, but it's no big deal.

mine has a sort of usb end with a rubber cover over that stays permanently affixed to the cheek pads. When I charge it I pull the ruubber cap off and it will plug directly into a USB port even though its not really a typical usb cable that you are use to seeing. Hope that made sence to you....

On my windows xp and windows vista it works just like a extra drive. So imagine a f:/drive if you will. You can just simple drag the songs to your f:/drive and bam they are copied...

Ear buds can effect balance in the water- go with SwiMP3 and sound conduction for a better experience.

I use the Interval from H2O Audio. I really like the performance and sound quality.
