  • 16m 53s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 15s / 100 meters
Comments:

I seem to always struggle on the swim.. this time I stayed well away from the pack and ending up drifting off course.
What would you do differently?:

Drafted!!
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

struggled to get my feet into my shoes whilst on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

I really need to improve in getting my shoes on whilst riding
Bike
  • 34m 59s
  • 20 kms
  • 34.30 km/hr
Comments:

felt great on the bike. Passed quite a few - never got passed by anyone. Felt like I wad a lot quicker than the time suggest but I think it included my T1 time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - Bike was great - maybe I should have put Gatorade in my handlebar fluid mount - lacked energy on the run.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Lost where my bike had to go so double backed. Put my shoes and hat on and was off.
What would you do differently?:

not a lot - it was very cramped in transition so it was hard to find where you bike had to go.
Run
  • 21m 10s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 14s  min/km
Comments:

This time is wrong - i was a lot slower than it says. I had no energy at all! I struggled keeping a 5m/km pace. Just didnt have the legs - did I over train??? Did I pay the price for the long run and cycle last week. Back to the drawing board :)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - I gave it my all - just didnt have the legs in me.
Post race
Warm down:

None

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I dont know??? I was really tired after the swim but felt great on the bike but struggled with my normal pace on the run. During training I am running 5km pace at 4.08 yet today I couldnt run 4.48/km ! Swim has improved but not good enough. Transition should have been quicker after the swim and the stuff up with my shoes didnt help. I think I am going to take a couple of weeks off training and let my body recover and start again in the new year.

Event comments:

Next year I will be back and better prepared .... I will smash 1.10 :)

You seem to have a natural talent and a great drive to train, I have noticed you do over train just a little and didn't really have a good recovery week, this needs revising.
I am a qualified coach and can help you plan a strategy for your season if you would like.
Well done on your time, definitely respectable. Grab yourself a HRM if you don't have one already.

Great result Jeff.
Was amazed at your run time, until you pointed out it was wrong!  I'd kill even for a 4:48/k run......   Even so, way to go!

Nice result, well done. I was watching the swim and everyone was going off-course on the last turn, there was a definite "Z" pattern out there in the water!!! It was VERY hot out there on Sunday and that may have affected your performance as well. Enjoy some rest time over Christmas and hit it again in the New Year :-)
