After dealing with the effects of a year of Gatorade residue clogging up my derailluer, I'm looking to put a rear bottle cage on my bike instead of using the cages below the top tube. I checked out a couple of Profile Design cages(similar to these) but thought I'd get some suggestions on models that work best with Adamo seats. I don't need more than room for a couple of 20-24 oz Polar bottles, & I'd prefer the ability to keep my bag under the saddle(to keep a spare tube, etc.). So, suggestions?

I use a hydrotail. It attaches to the seat post.  I have 3-4 saddle bags.  Some work better than others -- depends on how they are designed to attach -- but one of them fits nicely behind the seat and on top of the hydrotail.  You won't be able to use the back of the seat to hang the bike in transition.

I have the rear bottle carriers you mention and an Adamo saddle. But, my seat is forward and I am not able to use a bag under the seat.

I have the Adamo saddle and an X-lab wing with 2 bottle holders. Instead of worrying about the saddle bag (which can be rigged up to fit, though not elegantly), I just carry my repair kit (tube, co2, patch kit, allen wrenches, cell phone, car keys) in a 24 oz. bottle in the seat tube holder.

That's inventive, I have to admit.

mine:

Spare tube and tools in the hooked Transition lip in the rear. And you can still rack your bike in the bottle holder bracket

Maybe I have short arms, but I find it hard to reach bottles in my X-LAB wing mounted behind the Adamo race saddle on my Cervelo P2.

My husband uses this rear saddle-mount:  http://www.amazon.com/Bottle-Cage-Minoura-Holder-Upsidedown/dp/B001B13J1E with two cheap metal bottle cages on his Adamo saddle.

He bought me the same system for Christmas for my bike.  The good part is that the cheap metal cages can be bent so that they hold the bottles securely and don't eject them.   Sure, the metal cages weigh more than carbon, but for the ridiculously small weight differential, I'll drink faster or work on my engine.

Forgot to mention that we both run the under-the-saddle bike repair kits with this cage holder with no issues.  In fact, DH got a really big one to hold a tubular tire for his IM this year.

I ride the bad and nasty roads of Michigan so bottle ejection is the number one concern! ( I ejected to many bottles with a minorua and spent the $$$ to upgrade) I use a XLab Super Wing off my Adamo road saddle, with two Gorilla Cages along with there Kona bag, which holds plenty of tubes, tools, patches, etc.  It's not the cheapest option but works and I haven't been able to lose a bottle with it yet and I rode just a few miles this year with it
