Subject: Tacx Flow Bike Trainer - front wheel stand

Hi..I'm being offered a second hand Tacx Flow Ergotrainer. The seller doesn't want to give me the front wheel stand..is this an issue? I have never used or seen a trainer in real life so not sure if this is a big issue. He tells me that many low end trainers don't come with stands and often a telephone directory is good enough - I have also seen a thing on amazon for about 20 bucks to lift the front wheel..

I'm getting this trainer for 350 (Australian $), with prices for new ones at $799..seems like a good buy...just want to make sure I am not being conned..

Cheers gff

I have no experience with this particular trainer. However, you should just be able to put something under your front wheel in order to make your bike level once the rear is mounted in the trainer. I use a length of 2x12 about 2 feet long under the front wheel of my trainer bike and it works fine. For the money, sounds like a good deal, imo.

I used an old hard drive. People use phone books, blocks, boards, patient pets, whatever just to get the bike level. That's all it's for.
