I had forgotten how hard it is for me to lose weight.  I wanted to drop 10 pounds or so for my IM coming up.  I had thought that simply workout out another 3000 calories worth a week would do something.  Nopes.  So doing two workouts a day during the week for a total of around 1500 calories burned, I eat breakfast 300 calories, lunch 400 calories and dinner 750 calories, with possibly 100 calories right after work before my evening workout (1550 calories).  So ya my motabolism is hecka slow.  At this intake rate I have been able to lose 1 pound in a week.  No wonder folks who are not exercizing put on weight (me included prior to tri's).  That 2100 to 2300 cal burned  a day just by breathing and performing typical desk job activities is bullcrap.  Oh well, 8 weeks to lose 9 more pounds.  Perhaps the extra hours will help some.  Anyone out there, by the way?

On the drive home from the race I told my wife, "That was fun but I never want to do that again."  Now that a few days have passed and the soreness is mostly gone, I'm starting to think about maybe doing another.  Who knows?

Well I think a few more of us still have our first Tri to do this year. Mine is in 15 days (may 22) and I know Baowolf's is in June. Angie, are you still doing yours in June? Not sure who else is left.

I have my first Oly on the schedule for next week... thinking about dropping to the sprint bc of the OWS.  I appear to have some panic issues that are not going away easily.  Won't decide till Tues.  Good luck to the others that have their first event coming up.

My first Tri race the year is June 6th and having this nagging calf injury isn't helping me to get the PR I wanted.  Good news I'll have a great bike split since it's most of the training I'm doing.  Last Sprint race in Oct I had a 7:11 pace 5k, this one I'm just hoping to be able to run it.

Keep up the great work you all.  Let us know how your races go...

Same for me with the calf issue.  The problem is with an IM coiming up in 6 ish weeks.... having to wing the run on no real run training could prove.... challenging.  I may have to call dominos and have them deliver a pizza at mile 15 and then eat it for the remaing 3 hours of the walk of death.

Oh my gosh what a weekend, glad I am back at work... I think.  So Friday, work all day, pick up my daughter drop her off at home, drive 6 hours through really really windy 30 mph corner roads, go to bed 11:30 pm.  Get up at 6am go take a licensing exam thing... until 4pm, solid time pressured essay writing the entire time, drive back 6 hours, catch a few hours of down time Saturday night, couldn't even bring myself to workout.  Sunday up at 5am for  a 4 hour drainer ride before church, go to church, sunday brunch, 1:15 walk, take the wife and kids to a movie, come home eat dinner, digest a bit and then hit a 1 hour swim.  Sooo beat.  Where did my weekend go?
