Subject: Looking for a road bike and wetsuit?
I am looking for a used road bike and I live in the Kootenays. I was wondering if there is anyone that is looking to sell one that lives somewhat close to me. I was also wondering if anyone can tell me what brand of wetsuit to buy? Thanks very much!

I have an Xterra wetsuit and I LOVE it ... easy on and off, and so buoyant ... I am measurably faster with it on ... and as I hate open-water swims, more comfortable too! (I WILL panic, I know this about me!) I have the top-of-the-line model, which was pricey but it's nothin' but cold water out here ... and I consider it an investment, so I think it was worth every penny. Just my one (or two) cents' worth!

I have a used "entry level" wet suit but it depends if it will fit you. Let me know what size you're looking for.

I have a few road bikes, but am not in your area, so it won't help much (I'm in Port Moody). But I can offer a suggestion. The lower mainland police departments auction off bikes about every 4-6 weeks. Among them are road bikes. If you are looking for a road bike, as opposed to a tri bike, this might be a solution. Check the local police department and see if they do anything similar.

I am sure that you already know about craigslist.
There is also another site called pinkbike
I know it is a strange name, but there are many bikes offered for sale...

Tribc.org also has a classifieds section, though they seem to have recently 'upgraded' the website, and I have since not been able to see the list of items for sale ....

Thanks for the replys!! I am looking at the websites for wetsuits and I am wondering if it is better to go with the full length arms or not?!?

I love my full length arms - especially when I'm in the lake early in the season! Sleeveless is good if you're only planning on using it during the summer in warm water, IMO.

Even in the summer I have never been uncomfortable in BC in a full length sleeve suit.  If you plan on racing mostly up north go for a full length suit.

I live in Surrey and am looking for a first road bike. My plan for 2010 was to use my mountain bike but if your garage is filling up I might be interested.

I am not sure if this has ever been mentioned. In addition to Craigslist etc already listed,  MEC.ca has a 'gear swap' page and has it divided into activity sections - cycling, watersports....

I am 5'9". I looked at road bike yesterday and really like the Cervelo R3 54" and the Argon18 Krypton small. At the moment I am stuck as to get a cheap bike or save up the $3000 for either of those. Watching Craigslist and Ebay but they really hold their value which is bad now but good when it is my turn to sell.
