Swim
Comments: Tough first leg. Took a while to get into a rhythmn, energy expenditure seemed too high, so I mostly breathed off my left side. Navigation was horrible, which meant that I had to swim perpendicular to the course several times to round the buoys. Had a hard time balancing with wave action despite the chop and current being minimal. What would you do differently?: More open water swim practice and kick more. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: A lack of OW practice and I just incorporated new techniques into my stroke, which has had a negative effect on my endurance. Next year!!! Event comments: Race was good. It was an eye-opener to me as to where my abilities rank relative to other swimmers. That is to say, quite poor. Last updated: 2005-06-12 12:00 AM
