Oliver, BC, "Wine Capital of Canada"
Subject: The Torch came through our little town.

 

This might not be as exciting for non locals but it is pretty exciting for Canadians. 

The links below take you to a couple of videos the Torch bearer's (very proud) Son produced. His Dad (Norm Houle) is a well respected long time resident of Oliver who (as you can see) has a very supportive family and friends.

I may have to hand in my Man card as it  make me cry.
This touched me a little closer to heart as I was fortunate to be a Torch bearer for the 88 Olympics.

Also, for anyone that has done the Oliver 1/2 this stretch was done around Rd. 9 on hwy 97.

My family and I went when it came to Kelowna.  It was a really cool experience and it felt like they haven't forgot about us in B.C.
