Ate a toast with honey and a banana and had coffee 30 min before the start of the race

Was running conservatively and had major leg problems around mile 10 (almost like cramps in my right calf and right quad)
What would you do differently?:

Taper before the race and not train like an animal the week before a race

Great race!   I love the course.  This was the first year in four years that  I haven't done the race.  Dang!  You're fast.
