Comments: Went out a bit fast for my ability but got caught up with the adrenaline. Twisted my ankle about a mile from the start which is very unusual for me but since it was such a short race I really didn't care. The lead group had to have been a half mile ahead of me so I had a very hard time trying to keep pushing with no one to see and chase. I managed to hold my pace somehow and finished a lot better than I should have. What would you do differently?: I know I can do better but my training and attitude seems to be in need of some work. This was a better time than last year so I will be satisfied with that. Post race
Warm down: Went back to the car to grab the camera and take pictures of some 1/2 marathon folks coming across. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of speed work in training. Last updated: 2010-02-11 12:00 AM

I just love the idea of doing something other than a 5k and this was a trail run to boot. I really do like this race and all of the real runners in my age group seem to do the 10k, 1/2 or marathon leaving me a chance to finally place.
A small breakfast and driving out to Apache Junction. Got a late start getting out there and got stuck in a parking delay. Not a big deal but missed my planned warm-up run.
