Since it looks like we're starting over on the scotch thread, how about a change of pace...

What's your favorite Irish whiskey?

I've tried a few, and I think my favorites are the various Bushmills'--Bushmills Malt, Black Bush, and the standard Bushmills isn't bad.

I find Irish a nice change of pace from scotch--cleaner & crisper, good in summer.

Jameson.  So much so it's my son's middle name (for other reasons as well but I like that fact)

The standard Jameson's is very good. Their 12 y.o., formerly aka 1780 is very good and their pricey Rarest Vintage is very, very good.

Powers is a good, reasonably priced Irish.

Nothing better than a shot of JameO to make the night go well.

I really like Jameson's. I've only had their standard bottle, and it is good enough for me.

Now here's a thread right up m alley. Yes, Jameson is my favorite in general, as I see others enjoy as well. But interestingly no one has mentioned Middleton. Anyone tried? When I was in Ireland (I'm 99% Irish, 1% sober) I tried just about every Irish whiskey they could offer. Hands down Middleton is my favorite.

Anyone care to guess who makes Middleton?

For "everyday", Jameson is it for me. And, like the above poster's son's name, I have a daughter named "Jamison" with a feminine "i".

I hear Middleton's is quite good. Who makes it?

Middleton rare is made by Jameson. I first tasted it in Ireland in '99, when it was 8 pounds a shot. Now if I want one, it's $20 bucks here in the states. My buddy bought me a bottle when I finished graduate school. It came in it's own numbered cask/box and was oh-so unbelievably smooth. I think he got it for around $125 or so.
