Pre-race routine:

horrible. Didn't warm up and ate a cliff bar, not enough food.

Comments:

I loved this race event. I was with the lead pack for the first loop and a half and some how I got stuck between the lead pack and all the packs behind them. I call this space pergatory. I didn't get gobbled up by any of the packs in the rear I just had to ride the entire remainder of the loop and a half by myself. My training partner came in third overall. She had a great strategy and hung with the upper front part of the pack. I am not sure if my problem was fitness, an unfocused mind set or what. I can tell you that I LOVED it. It was super challenging and exciting!
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up big time and eat properly. Figure out what works for bike racing and do it. Learn more about pace lines and group riding tacktects.

Nice job Katie!  Wow... you were going 19.53 mph!  You're like the wind!!!!!  Sounds like you had a great time, like you knew you would.  Isn't it great to do something you completely love?  I'm happy for you K.
