personally I am looking forward to the season opener of the Cape League.  It's a great time to see the college kids before they make it to the big league.

I don’t mind baseball and I think it’s a good way to pass the summer until real sports start. But that’s all it is – I mean how can you play 200 games a year and call it a sport? Come on – please get a grip.

It’s a great bar game – ie you can got to the bar ,have a chat , a few beers and you won’t miss a thing because the very few exciting things that happen are played over and over again.

As for allegiances – well I watched the game for a while on my visits to the USA and didn’t develop any. However I did go to a game and I liked the atmosphere, the rivalry and the ballpark so I chose to follow that team – The Red Sox!! Of course I didn’t know I’d end up living in the area at that time!!

First game – Sox vs the evil Empire on the day that Micky Mantle was buried and the Sox were going for their 13th straight win! Wonderful atmosphere and of course as I supported the sox they lost!!

Still can’t put the game above Football (real type), Football (where you use your hands), Rugby or hockey.

Massive, passive sports fan. I watch snipits of games and follow win loss colums in the paper. Ellen you think like me sometimes. Life long follower of the patron saint of lost causes, I love the Red Sox and Cubs. Good thing hope springs eternial. Watch hockey in the post (real) season only. They have that humungous preseason called a regular season. Football (Pats) still the best. Can be watched almost in entierty even on a busy scedual.

By the way stupid ? When is the next televised version of the Ironman on?

Making fun of baseball and it's 200 regular season games?  What about the UHL....that is the useless hockey league.  It is the only sport that ruins my sportscenter during every season.  It is the one sport that has highlights year round.  To top it off they play a regular season to decide which team doesn't make the playoffs.

I really don't understand this baseball thing. A couple of years ago my ex-boyfriend made we watch all seven games of the World Series. Angels agains the Giants I think. A little boring, but they did hit some home runs Thank you Barry Bonds. I don't like baseball games but I do like baseball movies - Go figure! So all you baseball fans, cheers to you! and I hope your teams have a good season (only if you're not from Detroit. )

No, I think when you are from Michigan and keep track of the Tigers, then all you have is hope. See at least the Bo. Sox make it to the play offs. I learned that the kids that are in the fifth grade right now haven't been alive when the Tigers have had a winning season. How crazy is that?

cheering on the Cubs is great and brings back lots of childhood memories. it is kind of a lifestyle out here.

during night games, us law students watch the games from our computers...it gives us something to do during class from april until october!

also, baseball really helped me out in torts last semester. our professor gave us a scenario involving barry bonds and the cubs and i scored really well on that exam!
