I have a Flip Ultra and I'm considering getting the waterproof case for it but I'm a bit worried about picture quality with the case on. Anyone have some recs for a waterproof camera with video that's not reasonably priced and good quality?  TIA

I have one similar to the link.  An Olympus - but mine is a slightly older model.  Completely waterproof and will also shoot video.  I love mine - I have used to it record my swim several times.

I don't have the waterproof case for my Canon G10 but I want one.  The camera is really good for point and shoot and decent for short video, but it is more expensive than other models.

For prices, here's the Amazon link to the current G11 waterproof case

And here is the camera.

Cheapest waterproof I found is Fuji's Z33WP (<$140).  Pix are just OK and shutter lag is noticeable, but it has big display, good control buttons, uses common SD cards, & does video.  And compact enough to easily slip into pocket of my board shorts. Had tons of fun with it swimming in Oahu where it held up to the salt water (to ~8-10ft depth).

I have a waterproof case that I picked up off E-bay for pretty cheap for Canon A60/70 series cameras some time ago.  The A series cameras are long in the tooth and can be picked up for pretty cheap as well.  Got some nice diving/underwater video with the A70 last time we were in Hawaii with the setup.  Not state of the art by today's standards but what is your requirement?

I have one similar to this and it works great.

I bought is specifically to take videos of me swimming.

Great to bring to tris or training to take pictures as well as water proof and small.

The flip + the under water case works great and rather cheap solution. I've used it for under water video and use dartfish for the stroke analysis. You canalso use it for run analysis and bike fit. There are other options like Silicon Coach or cheaper ones like motionpro though the features are much more basic.

Take a look here - great review site for cameras.

Skip to the "Conclusions" page to get their recommendations if you aren't interested in all the comparisons.

Thanks for all the recs. I came home with a Fuji Z33 Water proof camera. I got a screaming deal - $109  and its really easy to use.

I did a quick trial run and am attaching it so you can see video quality. I think I need to adjust the blue tones. Also, please disregard my swimming... I got the camera so I can get a stoke analysis.  However, feel free to ask "WTF is she doing with her kick?"  I had no idea it was so screwey until I watched this.Surprised

I had the same issue with my kick.  A swim coach had me swim with a pull buoy but kick.  It gives you a good feeling on how the kick should be.  Have fun with the new toy!
