Subject: pasting in links

I am not sure if it is something I am doing or what, but I am unable to cut and past URL links into a post. I like to do this for referencing past threads/ articles along with links to things like Consumer Product Safety Commision recall lists. Is it BT, or am I just a pudding head?

type in the text.
Highlight that text.
Click the Chain button on the editor. A box will appear.
Copy and paste the URL into the "Link URL" box.  Click the "insert" button.
Done.

Ok, that works. I was just used to being able to cut and past info into the thread without having to use the link feature. Thanks.
