Overall Rank = 19/195
Age Group = MEN OPEN
Age Group Rank = 7/26
Pre-race routine:

Woke up had a few cups of coffee and a serving of oatmeal at 6am. Felt a bit tight so I hopped on my trainer for 15min and spun at a high cadence. More coffee showered headed out the door to pick up a friend who was also racing.
Event warmup:

Sat around in the car staying warm. Eventually I stripped down and ran for 15min or so.
Run
  • 1h 04m 40s
  • 7.21 miles
  • 08m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Hard. Went high calf deep in mud once, and mud over the top of my shoe 20+ times.

During the run a few times you have to walk/climb up rocks. Literally straight vertical.

It was much harder than I thought it would be. Very technical. I almost face-planted once but caught myself. Very hard but an awesome time.
What would you do differently?:

Go a bit easier at the onset? Otherwise tie my shoes better, never hard my Brooks Cascadias come untied. They were double knotted.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat. Talked and drank a chocolate silk milk and an orange slice.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Rolling my left ankle.
Having to re-tie my shoe.
Going off course.

Event comments:

Awesome race. Due to its nature it is hard to over the course perfect marked. VERY technical.

Nice race - good to break it up with a technical run. Hope you got all the mud off your shoes. That would have really slowed me down.
