Event warmup:

Ran the 2.8 mile run course
Swim
  • 10m 3s
  • 600 yards
  • 01m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was a pool swim and a pretty good swim for my crrent abilities, when I got out of the pool, it was 9:37, so 1:35's
What would you do differently?:

get to the pool more so I have a better base and am able to swim better
Transition 1
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

As I was running ou side the pool and too my bike I was pulling on my wind breaker, originally I wanted to keep it at a minute, and glad to see that the windbreaker didn't slow me down
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 35m 20s
  • 13 miles
  • 22.08 mile/hr
Comments:

I had really wanted to smoke this course, but with the wind it made it hard to do just that. Overall, I am very pleased with the 7th OA bike split. There were times that the wind was blowing/gusting so hard that I wanted a drink becasue my mouth was dry, but I couldn't get one becasue I was affraid of getting blown off my bike
Transition 2
  • 00m 25s
Comments:

Great transistion, I only see 2 that were faster than this
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 18m 28s
  • 2.8 miles
  • 06m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

I decided not to take the water station right out of the transistion, turned out this was the only one.....WTF. Either way, I was able to push through the run, but I never felt good/warm/fast, I knew I was moving as I was passing people, i just wasn't as fast as I hoped, and I was not able to get my HR where I wanted it to be, it was about 10 bpm lower than I wanted, I think my body was just in survival mode. I had originally planned for 2 minues faster, and could have probably come close, but I just could not get my ass moving! My hands were numb, as were my legs, so it made it a little tough to get a good rythm going.

One unfortunate thing I saw on the run course was a biker get hit by a truck, he was still on the ground/police/ambulance were being called as I ran by, but I did consider stopping, but thought there was nothing I could do, and since I saw a lady on her cell, I figured the EMT's were on their way. I later found out that he was ok, and he was able to finish the race....tough guy!
What would you do differently?:

push harder, take the glass of water out of transistion
Post race
Warm down:

All in all it was a good race, and I am happy with the results as I PR'ed the course by 4 minutes, i was just really thinking that I had more in me

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cold/Wind

Event comments:

The race seems to be a victim of not so nice weather every year. The race director puts to gether a great race, but by the time the elite group comes through the volunteers are spent, and cold, and ususally no where to be seen

Nice bike split, especially with that wind.  That run time isn't bad, either.  Congratulations on your PR for the race.
