Pre-race routine:

woke up and ate, then drove to race site.
Event warmup:

jogged around a bit, wondering if throat and lungs would allow for more today after the lousy one mile run that I posted last night.

Interesting in that I had never done a reverse tri before- knew that I had a sizable lead going in so I just relaxed and took my time.

Since this was a reverse tri I knew that I had some work to do coming off the 2.2 mile run. The guy that smoked me in the one mile run the night before had over a minute lead, so I put my head down and went. Caught him before the turn around and ended up putting a few minutes between us before T2 and then also posted the fastest swim split to finish up for the win.

Just couldn't breathe well again, been sick all week. Knew I had some work to do on the bike and swim. This being a reverse tri ended up working in my favor.
