Pre-race routine:

got up at 5:30am. had juice and cereal. got everything in my car. grabbed some water and headed to the race. Set up at transition. Put wetsuit on and went for a little swim with some friends to get used to the water. then it was a few quick hus=gs and good lucks and of to the start.
Event warmup:

swam out to the first buoy and back
Swim
  • 34m 52s
  • 2400 yards
  • 01m 27s / 100 yards
Comments:

felt great. had a little trouble sighting after rounding the buoy but then it was smooth sailing
What would you do differently?:

stay in closer to the buoys to start
Transition 1
  • 03m 19s
Bike
  • 3h 06m 49s
  • 56 miles
  • 17.99 mile/hr
Comments:

computer stopped working at mile 4 and then started back with 20 miles left which made it hard to determine output. helped to have watch set for every ten minutes to remind me to drink
Transition 2
  • 04m 13s
Comments:

had to stop and use BR and put suntan lotion on before run
Run
  • 2h 19m 48s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

too hot. hard to stay cool but did as good of a job as I could. sand by RR tracks was hard to run in. first four miles or so was uphill and made it a little tricky between the heat, incline and just getting off the bike
Post race
Warm down:

jumped in the lake, changed, drank a gatorade, got a massage, stretched and ate.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the heat and having my computer break
