I am excited about this race.

 My goals are to

swim < 1:30 hundreds (just over 13 minutes)

bike >22mph (under 51 minutes)

run < 20 min 5k (6:27 pace)

T1 and 2 under a minute each.

that would put me at about 1:26:xx - last year i was at 1:29:19

Hopefully my whole family will come out to watch this one.

If you haven't signed up yet you should - it is a great race

Yipes!  You're a rock star!

Thinking I'm going to sign up for this tonight since I still haven't heard anything about the Komen (fatrabbit).

Thanks for the advice!

I'll be there.  I'm doing a relay team for it again this year.  (Back to where it all began!)

I'm in.  Just registered this weekend.  I have only been biking 1 week so I don't know if I will be able to improve on my time from last year

I'm in with corporate challenge. I was originally just going to do the bike relay... but someone dropped out and I'm doing it all. I have not swam since the race last year... so it is going to be interesting and probably painful.

History:
2005 - 1:41:35 - first ever tri
2007 - 1:34:06
2008 - 1:29:58
2009 - 1:43:11

Prediction - somewhere in the mid 1:30 range. The swim is not going to be pretty at all.

Which division are you in?  I'm in division 2.  I'm looking forward to a much better swim time than last year.  I had only been swimming for 6 months when I got reeled into it.

Division 3... I just need to relax in the water. I got caught up in a group last year and just had no room. Then when I got free my navigation was horrid. We will see but I don't think it is going to be pretty. I'll just have to make up time on the bike and run.

I'll see all of you there.  If they do the same as last year, the corporate challenge people will be the first wave.

Looks like I'm going to be signing up. I was training for Tri for the Cure, but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. Wow! That means my first tri could be just ten days away!

Make sure you park outside of the park's lot, either in the neighbor hood or elsewhere. They definately do not let anyone out until the last racer is off the bike course.

looks like the bike course might change a little from last year.

i know they have a no cars out policy but last year there were plenty of cars leaving early.

besides if i leave at 9:45 that leaves very few stragglers out there. last finisher should be done by 10.

The course looks wacky... How are we going clockwise but then using the same intersection at Africa? The bikers are going to cross paths and possibly run into each other it seems.

Corporate Challenge Divisions are broken out workforce size in Columbus. They do not track age groups.

Division 3 is the largest employers Nationwide, AEP, Cardinal, Chase, etc.
Division 2 is Motorist Insurance, Grange, Citigroup, OCLC, Worthington Industries, etc
Division 1 the smallest Karlsberger, Bricker & Eckler, Columbia Gas, PWC, etc.

I, too, was confused by the mini loop at the SE corner of the bike coarse.  I see that they've removed it on the latest map (updated earlier today).  The course is now just under 17 miles instead of 30K.

I just signed up yesterday.  I've got an Oly the weekend following, so this is definitely not an A race, but I'm going to enjoy racing on Sunday a lot more than I would have enjoyed my planned training.

I am pretty sure my swim and bike were faster than last year and run was about the same.  i had slower transitions but the run out/in for the bike was longer and i am new at the wetsuit thing.

my race time  was 6 min 24 sec faster than last year.  what was the distance on the bike this year?

on map my run I estimate it to be about 17.5  - i had no computer

oh - and how long was it really last year.  race reports have it 18.6 to 18.9 miles but maybe it was less.  was it the same route

Bike was 16.9 this year.  Race results are posted now.  I just checked.

I did the corporate challenge relay again this year.  knocked 4 minutes off my swim time over last year.
