Swim
Comments: Went out pretty fast but still felt good. Navigation was poor on the first lap. I went way wide and then had to come back to the bouy. Not too much contact the entire race. FInally caught a draft on the last straight coming back to the boat launch. I was 3 minutes faster than last year. What would you do differently?: Swim straighter Transition 1
Comments: Had my garmin 305 on my handle bars and planned on putting it on during the race. I didn't anticipate how difficult this would be while riding and trying to get my shoes on, and going over speed bumps. It probably cost me about a minute. What would you do differently?: Not sure. I think I'll have to work on that before my next race. Bike
Comments: I never really pushed on the bike. I was a little afraid I was going to run out of water. I got about 8 miles in and looked down saw I only had about a quarter of the bottle left. I only got passed once on the bike but I felt like I was too content with my speed from just passing other people. I need to remember to stick to my own race. I feel like I should have rode a 1:05. What would you do differently?: Push harder. I rode too conservatively. Transition 2
Comments: Need to work on this. I don't know how people are so much faster at this than I am. Run
Comments: Had a really solid run. 2nd fastest split in the race. This tells me I should have pushed harder on the bike. Post race

Got up at 4 to make the drive from Spokane to Walla Walla. Went down by myself. Pretty uneventful drive. I got to the lake about an hour before the race, but I still had to pick up my packet and wait in line for the porta potty. I didn't get to rack my bike until about 20 minutes before the race started. I had kind of a bad spot on the rack but it was ok. It was a pretty windy day and my bike blew over and dumped my aero bottle which was my only nutrition for the race. So I had half the water I needed.
Swam around for about 2 or 3 minutes in the frigid water.
