I was on Old Stage going in the opposite direction of the course route.

While on the way down the other side  I was thinking " this is a lot longer then I thought".

Not looking forward to this at all.

Less than three weeks now, and I learned yesterday that I seriously lack climbing power.  And I have lots of core work to do.  And I ought be a tad more flexible.  And then there's the whole OWS navigation thing.  But aside from that, I can hardly wait! Cool

LOL... You are to funny!

I learned that it is going to be even a longer day on the run (or walk) if yesterday was any indicator of things to come.

I'm the genius who signed up for a half-marathon on Saturday, conveniently knocking out my ability to go for any kind of ride this weekend. And who has yet to do any serious climbing this season. Yeah, Olde Stage should be fun...Undecided

I am not doing that "walk of shame" this year on Stage Coach.....unlike last year.  I am going up there this weekend and working the hills.  I will probably do one loop of the course and one loop of the long course, if anyone wants to do part/all, let me know and maybe we could meet up for it.

Lance, I might be into that depending on the timing, we have in-laws from both coasts here for the week. That does sound like a great reality test...

Anyone on Old Stage today? Looked like a yard sale with all the bikers!

Did realize one thing - I have to learn to take it easy on the first part of Old Stage. If you push to hard on the 5% grade when it gets to the 12% you legs will probably blow-up.

Two weeks to go!  Bring on the hill!

Being unemployed, I'm thinking I'll get out there sometime this week (and maybe a few times next week) to ride the course.  If anyone works up in the area and wants to get out during lunch or after work I'd enjoy the company.  The entire route might be unfeasible if you're going during lunch, so we could just start somewhere near Lee Hill Rd and Hwy 36 or Hwy 7 intersection.  Ride the hill, out Left Hand and then straight back along Foothills Pkwy/36/7.  I think that would be around 12 miles, might be doable for a lunch break? (especially if you can sneak out for an hour and a half to give yourself time to wipe down after with some baby wipes)

Anyone interested?

I'm not "offically" participating, but I'd be up for riding the course- my plan for next year is to do the sprint and oly in advance on IMOO.  Let me know if you guys plan on going out this week.  I will be in Chicago from Saturday on, but would like to get some saddle time on a challenging course!!

Info is out on the race.
So now they are encouraging us to go and get our packets on Friday and then return on Saturday for the 1 hour mandatory meeting? RIDICULOUS! They couldn't offer one of the mandatory meetings on Fri??? Didn't show for the Sprint meeting and doubt I am going to show for this one either. Anyone plan on going to one that can report the details to all of us that don't feel like driving to Boulder 2 days in a row?

The meetings are pretty standard, I picked up a thing or two from the medical speech before the sprint (about nutrition in the final 24 hours).  The guy behind me who called out "on your  right, ON YOUR RIGHT!!" coming into T2 is the one who needs to go a meeting.  You, on the other hand are probably OK reading the packet off the website

Yeah, the meetings are basically all the same, if you've heard one you've heard them all.  Telling people to come two days in a row is pretty stupid, especially considering it's in a pretty environmentally conscience town like Boulder and I'm sure they are aware of the number of participants from the Denver area.  Just sounds like it's one of the things that WTC has done to make it worse than when 5430 was in completely control.

Swim waves and bib numbers are posted.

Again I get to swim with the men and this time it is some of the 35-39 year olds. Ugh!

And part of the very last wave to start. So please save some beer for us in the last group!!

During the sprint my age group was the first. That was great because we didn't have to wait around on the beach for an hour. I guess it's payback time.

Same here, I'm not looking forward to the 90 minutes of standing around after the transition closes and before our wave starts.
