Subject: It's time, it's time.... .... to introduce myself. Hello - I'm Steve, and live just north of Dayton. I'm 50 and 6'2", and weigh 213 (and dropping ). So a Clyde by weight, but I race in AG category. I was primarily a runner until 2005 when I did my first sprint Duo on a Hybrid bike. I quickly took to the multisport races, and did my next duo on my new road bike that year. Last year I really realized I needed to improve my biking speed / times, and worked hard at that last year, and particularily this year. I upgraded my bike again, and my first 2 Duo's this year I see the improved bike times of at least 2 mph. I decided last year I'd either Tri a Tri, or move up to Oly distance Duo's. Since I haven't swam since last Sept., I think the Oly is my best option. I'm basically kinda nervous, and have delayed signing up for Deer Creek Oly, not sure why because I believe my conditioning is there, and I've taken great steps (through stretching ) to nearly eliminate the achilles injury I suffered off and on for most of last year. Sorry for the length of this post, but I hope to contribute to this forum, and know I'll be absorbing a lot from everyone's comments and experience. I welcome any tips or advice anyone has when moving up to the Oly distance, like pacing, nutrition, and anything else you can offer to make me feel more comfortable and pull the trigger on registering for Deer Creek Oly Duo.
