mr2tony - 2010-06-15 1:35 PM Texas will win the Big XII every single year now, with the exception of the rare year that OU does or some upstart team pulls off a miracle. So, yeah, nothing's changed. Nebraska was the only team that had the consistency to possibly challenge and beat Texas, which I think they will in October, and now that they're gone, who will represent the north? Let's figure the options: Kansas State? Without Bill Snyder they're a doormat, and he ain't gettin' any younger. Kansas? It's a basketball school. Wave the wheat at Phog, kids. Iowa State? It's still Iowa State. And it's in Ames. They pull of the occasional miracle win but still suck. Missouri? This is the only team that might have a prayer of being even a remote competitor. But c'mon, Mizzou-Texas? Move OU to the North? That's an option. Then it'll be OU-UT every year in the championship game. Oooh. Dramaless and boooring. This isn't surgery to fix the problem. This is a pill to delay the inevitable. The Big XII won't last.

Really - Nebraska?  The best teams were consistently in the south division.  Baylor is the only patsy in the southern half.  All the other teams could beat one another (yes, even OSU..)  Actually the talk is that the championship will go away and there will be no N-S split...

A&M's more of a patsy than Baylor at this point, and Tech isn't scaring anybody this year either.  North/South is meaningless now, they're going to go round-robin until they add a couple teams.

that's why I thought A&M should leave the Big 12.. branch out and hopefully down the line get some players that don't think losing to UT by 3 touchdowns is something to be proud of..  heavy sigh

It would only get worse in the SEC.

This is A&M we're talking about.  I actually saw one of their fans say that staying with the Big 12 was "the worst decision since we let women into the university".  They're a different breed over there.

Did you miss that little contest in December? I would say that was fairly competitive. Barring an extra magical mystery second on the clock, Nebraska wins that game.

There's nothing magical or mysterious about following the rules.
