Swim
Comments: GEt to the start with like a minute to spare! First a girl yells out- Damn I forgot to put my tampon in this am...LMAO. THEN a dead fish floats by....mmmm...yum. Anyways didnt sight well at first and went off to the left. Got back on course and just swam- pretty boring. I need to put more effort into my swims. Then I wouldnt have to pass so many people on the bike:) Had to walk a lot the end of the swim- it was really yucky muddy mushy- ewww. Longish run to T1 What would you do differently?: swim faster of course. Spend some time at the pool.... ho hum.... Transition 1
Comments: This went OK... passed a bunch of people on the run to T1. Didnt sign autographs or anything. LONG transition What would you do differently?: nada Bike
Comments: This is according to my garmin.... I guess I lost my chip in T1....I didnt realize this til I crossed the line. They have my final time just no bike or run splits.... luckily I have them :) THis was a challanging but fun course. Ithink if I would have prerode this Id have an advantage. I was abit weary on some of the downhills and corners cuz the roads were wet. I love to ride! At the beginning I just went way to the right and passed liek amile of people :) Love it! Then I just cruised along. HR was high at the beginning but eventually settled to where Id like it. Was hard to tell what my ave watts were with all the hills. Dropped my damn chain going up a hill.... yeesh- youd think Id know better by now. Didnt take long to get going (maybe 6.9 seconds- huh Clint:)) First bike back to T2- beautiful. This bike time was as fast as the #1 elite females- heh:) What would you do differently?: Not drop my chain. Probaly slowed too much for some of the downhills/corners. I dont think I rode to hard- probaly just about right for the distance! Ave watts 195. Normalized power 209 Transition 2
Comments: guessing on time... transition was so long- I stopped at # 224 instead of 324. I weas like where the hell is my stuff!!!! then I found a guy and asked what the hell my # was....duh. Ran to MY rack and I was off. There werent a whole lot of bikes anywhere near me.... freakin nice. What would you do differently?: know where my rack is. Youd think I never raced before. Run
Comments: OMG- I did not like this run course. Was probaly one of the toughest runs I have done. I think I liked it even less then TTT. With that being said- I felt great out of T2- had my run legs was stoked to be the first bike back..... Well.... as the hills came it got a lot harder. Ran with one guy for a while, he evetually gave up on running with me- HA!. It was just hard to run on it was soft and I just was not trained for that! I just kept pushing along. My fastest split was like a 7:50 the rest were all like 8:30-8:40s- not at all where I usually run at that HR. Oh well. The girl weho beat me passed me in the first or second mile but she was the only one in my AG- another girl passed me too but she was younger. I had a huge ass blister- well not really a blister morelike an open wound on my heel from my shoes and the run surface- ouchie.... but it got my mind off the run course!! Did it slow me down- maybe a little but I wouldnt blame it for my run time. What would you do differently?: run faster!! Train on trails and more hills. Post race
Warm down: they asked where my chip was- I was like uuuhhh...dunno. Wentto timing and they had my time and I was 2cnd!! SWEET took off my damn shoes that were killing me. Got offered a bandaid by a supernice guy driving by...lol- they must have felt sorry for me. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of swim training. Was a confidence builder which I needed. Ill take 2cnd on that course They did a great job with therace- was happy with everything. Last updated: 2010-06-15 12:00 AM
