Wetsuit for Welland?

I thought I saw in another post that the temp. was close to 70 the other night.  Hope that helps you decide.

I think the multisport canada pre race podcast said mid 70s.  If so wetsuit might not be allowed if it gets much warmer.  Maybe e-mail john? they are pretty good about replying to e-mails.  If you want an address let me know.

I rented one and will bring it.  I've never raced without one.  It's always so freaking cold wherever I swim.  Will be interesting to try one without a wetsuit - may have to rethink my top as it might give too much drag!!  When can we find out on race day?  At the race?

Just swam in the canal where the race will be...had a wetsuit but could have swam without...chilly but once you get going, you'll be fine. Up to you! Don't expect it to get much warmer then 72 or so. I'm doing the half IM but I'm probably going to be leaving T2 sometime after noon (probably 12:30 ish)

Thanks for the temperature update.  I was worried that I was going to be too warm in my wetsuit.  At woodstock I was definitely wishing i had a sleeveless wetsuit!

Just got update and Water Temp is 74 degrees. SOme did not wear a wetsuit last night and some did. Sleeveless is probably the way to go if you have one! I hope I will see you on the course on Sunday! Great success on your race...since to me, luck has little to do with it! LOL!
