Swim
Comments: Good swim passed a ton for the length. Had to be a little short. Actually drafted for about 10 strokes then realized I should push it in.... What would you do differently?: Go harder after the first 50-100 and push the pace Transition 1
Comments: Overall 7th, 1st ag group Long jog from the water to T1. Run was in the swim time. Never pushed the run over as much as I should have. got to the rack, belt on helmet on and go. Should have gone 5-7 sec fadter but not bad at all. Went fro a stepover mount and still had rt foot problems. need to get up to speed much earlier and then worry about getting the shoes on. What would you do differently?: Move quicker. first time with glassed in bento box, not a bad idea but need to practice those little things also. Still had trouble geting my rt foot started into my shoe Bike
Comments: Borrowed Wess' wheels Got up to speed and was going good. Big hill was still a butt kicker but I worked it ok in the easy gear. Slowly was making up ground till the turn around. I missed the sign and went to the police officer (50yards long) before I turned back. Had 2 guys turn short that I coundn't reel back in. Cost 15 to 20 sec total time. Neg split the ride and pushed hard on the way home. Bill was about 40 sec behind and made up ground the whole way. Drank 3/4 aero bottle and 1/2 acceleraid bottle on the road. What would you do differently?: Listen to the pre race meeting about what the turn around will look like. Stupid mistake Transition 2
Comments: 57th overall 12th in age group. Prepped for dismount too early but still kept up the speed. Foot down at line to the rack. Got my lt shoe on and started working the rt sock CRAMP!!!!!!! in the calf caused a little delay, sock and shoe on run run run What would you do differently?: may be time to think about no socks on short runs.... Run
Comments: Went out as fast as I thought i could and then maintained it. It was already hot sunny and humid. Not a fun run for a sick feeling day. When I left T2 Ruth said "you've still got him" and so i looked at the bikeers coming in to see where he was. Didn't think he was already on the run behind me. Almost gave it back to him but held on. Saw carlos a half mile in and nearly reeled him in . Came up about 20 sec slow.... What would you do differently?: get 2 good cups of water at the early aid station and get more fluid in me Post race
Warm down: Walked around in the shade with the fam What limited your ability to perform faster: Illness!!!!! and nearly no training the week of the race Event comments: Much better post race this year. As i said last yer the venue is pretty sweet with the big trees and nice breeze. Fun and quality small race! Last updated: 2010-04-01 12:00 AM
