Subject: RE: Heart Rate question Typically, for that short of a period of time (with a reasonable level of fitness ) an extremely high HR will not cause much problems.
However, when you say is that a good thing... well, that depends.
If your trying to build a base, you would be better served by not driving your HR so high.
If your trying to improve speed (and some would say muscular endurance ), a interval of higher HR may be of some value.
A lot depends upon what your training objectives are... plus, what is your current aerobic base.
