Subject: Herb Wins at Buffalo Springs 70.3
Local Frederick, MD racer Herb Spicer won Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs AG55-59 with 4h:36, giving him two podiums in 14 days ( .... after taking 3rd AG at Eagleman in spite of riding 68 miles instead of 56 when a small group of first and fast age groupers beat the volunteers to the course and took a wrong turn on the "Old Eagleman Course" .... thus inviting LOTS of well-deserved "old kook" comments Wink).

26m:07 / 2m:04 / 2h:32 (22.1MPH)  / 1m:48 / 1h:35 was good enough for 39th of 614 men at Buffalo Springs Lake near Lubbock.

Nice job, Herb.

he didn't realize what the course was for E-man?!  Didn't get win that AG like a few years ago.

Congrats though.


To all who don't know Herb, I had the honor to meet him about a month ago.  For being in the 55-59 AG he is by far the most athletic man I've seen over 40.  Yes he beats out Alan any day.
