Run
Comments: Fun run, maybe 50 people tops. I don't think many folks even knew about this race. I didn't even hear about it till the night before. Anyway, gun went off right on time, and it was a fast start down the parade route (no one there yet, but lots of chairs set up...). turned off and looped around downtown a bit, and ended back where we started. I just tried to keep running hard, and keep my HR up over 160. I felt great, and was easily holding my HR where I wanted it. mile 1: 7:54, 161bpm mile 2: 8:40, 166bpm mile 3: 8:26, 164bpm mile 4: 7:51, 168bpm What would you do differently?: nothing. No blisters today either. Good day. Post race
Warm down: Had a pancake breakfast, then watched the town parade. Event comments: No water stations at all! No problem for me as I never take water on runs under an hour, but I heard several others complain about it. I'll do the race again, and try to recruit a few friends too. I just don't think many people know about this race. Last updated: 2010-07-04 12:00 AM

My daughter (8yo) was running the 1 mile race, we got all registered and I headed down to my start while she stayed with mom where her race would start.
I ran in my Zoot's with no socks, lubed up a bit with Body Glide on the heels.
About 5 minutes of running/stretching/skipping type warmups.
