Pre-race routine:

Up early for a shower and breakfast of an english muffin and peanut butter.

Event warmup:

About a .6 mile warmup, hung out with my team. Cried a number of times.

Comments:

Went out way too fast at 10:15 for the first mile. The second 2 miles was 10:45 each so they were opposite of the plan but I was able to hang on and kick a tiny bit at the end. I definitely left it all out there. It was a nice tribute to Jessica's gift of life.

PR by a minute!!!!! And holy, moly is that a top 25% of my age group? I know this isn't a big race for serious athletes but that just rocks!!!

Warm down:

Hung out with Erica and Macey, looked around the expo and listened to presentations and watched the balloon release.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Emotions and heat.

Event comments:

Much bigger than I expected and the nice surprise of chip timing. Definitely will do the race again.
