Pre-race routine:

tested the waters...a little chilly but not bad...calm.
Swim
  • 12m 40s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 32s / 100 meters
Comments:

Ummmmmmm the swim was not so good. We actually had to tread water for about 2 minutes before the start so I was out of breath starting....Finally got in a groove about half way through...then got badly stung by a jellyfish which I saw as I swam over it. OUCHHHHHHHHH. Finished the swim quickly after that and the stinging just got worse and worse while on the bike, but was gone by the time I started running.
What would you do differently?:

uh wear a wetsuit or not do a tri with jellyfish infested waters.
Transition 1
  • 03m 3s
Comments:

too slow
What would you do differently?:

go faster :) wear bike shorts while swimming.

Comments:

What would you do differently?:

Transition 2
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

ok, but could be faster
What would you do differently?:

get the tri laces in my running shoes
Run
  • 26m 44s
  • 3.3 miles
  • 08m 06s  min/mile
Comments:

felt fantastic after first 1/4 mile. good run.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

not enough water, jellyfish sting, not practicing transitions.

Event comments:

I think they should warn about jellyfish. Also plenty of food/water after race, but only 1 water stop during the whole race (during the run).
Next year I will do the NYC Tri, which was on the same day!!!!
