Subject: Tiburon Triathlon : Official Thread

Hey all,  looks like there are a few other folks signed up for this tri this weekend.  Anyone done it before?  It looks like a fun relaxed event.  I've done a few open water swims, but never in the bay before.  I assume it's a pretty sheltered swim area, but haven't actually seen it.  The water is probably pretty cold too, right?

Did it last year as my first triathlon and loved it. Very small community race which was really low key and fun. I'm bummed to be missing it this year but I'm still recovering from the Vineman 70.3 on Sunday.

The transition area is in the park in Belvedere and the swim leaves from the Yacht Club and is in the marina. It is pretty protected but the water last year was very cold. It is a pretty long run from the swim finish to transition so I'd recommend leaving a pair of flip flops at the swim exit to wear to transition so that you don't hurt your feet on the road. Have fun it is a great race!

I ended up putting an old pair of running shoes at the waters exit, glad I did, thanks for the tip!  Great race, I'll definately do it again.
