Event warmup:

Not much. Stretched. Light jog to the swim start.
Swim
  • 14m 38s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 41s / 100 yards
Comments:

The water was cold!!! Took my breath away. It took me a minute or two just to catch my breath. Wow. Once I got things under control, I got into a pretty good rhythm. The time trial start was nice. The canal was wide, so there was plenty of room to swim and pass if need be. I'm so stickin' slow, I might of passed one or two. Someone doing breaststroke passed me while I was doing freestyle. LOL. Sad really.
What would you do differently?:

Ummm, how about be a better swimmer.
Transition 1
  • 01m 54s
Comments:

I felt I had a good transtion for me. Smooth and no fumbleing around.
What would you do differently?:

Just work on getting my shoes on faster.
Bike
  • 36m 25s
  • 11.6 miles
  • 19.11 mile/hr
Comments:

I worked hard on the bike. I tried to be aggressive and strong. Something that I was lacking in the past. The race results said I averaged 20.5mph. I don't think that was right, but it does look impressive. I still did my best time ever so I am pleased with my performance.

The bike course was rough. My water bottle fell out of my cage as I was going over those darn railroad tracks. The course had tons of potholes and turns. My sister who did the tri too said she saw two people fall off their bikes!!! WTH!
What would you do differently?:

Continue to train and be better.
Transition 2
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

I felt this transition was smooth. Though I lost a little time because I needed to drink some gatorade. I lost my water bottle during the bike portion and was unable to drink anything.
What would you do differently?:

Not lose my waterbottle during the bike portion.
Run
  • 24m 52s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m  min/mile
Comments:

Legs were really tired. I worked hard on the bike, so paid for it in the run. I was pleased overall with the run. I passed a bunch of people so that always feels good.
What would you do differently?:

Not too much.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around with my sister who by the way rocked the OLY. (third overall in the ladies). We waited for her husband to finish his first ever tri. He finished and and hung out until my sis got her award and left.

Event comments:

Overall I really enjoy Tri-Indy. The only complaint is the bike course. Everything else is top notch. Very well organized with good music and great volunteers. Next year I'll take my chances with the OLY!! :)

Hey Claire, great job on the race!  Wow the bike course does sound rough.  Your transition times look good and  your bike pace was awesome.  I would love a 20.5!  Your run looked really good too after the fast biking.  The good thing with the swim is that it is the shortest part of the race right?!
